All it takes is a clear goal, team commitment, motivation and inspiration of the leader, to achieve that goal

It was interesting listening to John Key on Breakfast TV on Monday morning as he recounted the challenges of 2010. We have had quite a year New Zealand wise and my thoughts go out to all of those people who will be missing a loved one at Christmas.

As many of you are probably aware, I was invited to be one of the ‘Wise men’ with our National Party MP’s on the Classic Hits float in the Hamilton Christmas Parade. It was a very interesting experience due to the sheer number of people who lined the streets to watch the parade. The parade was then followed by the after party in Garden place – WOW that was amazing – again the number of people and the energy that exuded from the city heart was awesome.

Thanks to our own Sarah Bettle and her team of Volundeers for creating a magical spectacle in the city. Like most things, business and pleasure, all it takes is a clear goal, the team’s commitment to that goal and the motivation and inspiration of the leader to keep the team on track to achieve that goal. Well done Sarah and Co.

I also had the pleasure of being a judge in the Waikato Times Gold Cup Fashion in the Field on Saturday at Te Rapa races.  Another splendid affair surrounded by beautiful people enjoying the fine Hamilton weather and the spectacle that the races provide.  It was brilliant to see people dressed up for the occasion, and not only the fairer sex.  Bernadette Kirkham, Marketing Manager Waikato Times and her team of fashion leaders arranged an excellent event on the lawn that set the scene for a beautiful day. Again – clear goal, motivated people, and there it is, another success story.  Congratulations Bernadette and your team of lovely ladies.
